Eka Karya Bali Botanical Garden



Eka Karya Bali Botanical Garden is a large botanical garden located in the district of Tabanan, Bali, Indonesia.

This garden is the first botanical garden which was founded by the son of the Indonesian nation. Management conducted by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) and the organizational structure is under development center Bogor Botanical Gardens Plant Conservation. This garden was established on July 15, 1959. At first the Eka Karya Botanical Garden Bali is only for plants conifers. Along with the development and change of status as well as the wider region, the garden is located at an altitude of 1250-1450 m above sea level is now the ex-situ conservation areas for plants of tropical mountains of eastern Indonesia. Extent Botanical Garden was originally only 50 ha, but this time a vast botanical garden 157.5 ha.

Eka Karya Botanical Garden Bali has several collections of plants grouped by kinship. In addition to collected, the types of plants also pursued research and development.

Some of the collections of which include orchids, cactus, fern / fern, bamboo, Moss Collection, Begonia, Bamboo, Plant Ceremony, Medicinal Plants, Bamboo, Water Plants and palm.

Eka Karya Botanical Garden Bali is located in the middle of the island, which is located in the caldera of an extinct volcano.

To get to the Bali Botanical Gardens can be reached via land route for one-half hour from Denpasar, or about 80 km to the north of Denpasar to Singaraja. If from Singaraja the distance about 40 km to the south to Denpasar or take approximately half an hours drive.
